YUQING WANG 王宇晴
Northwest(2017)
Two years ago, I traveled to the northwest of China. No words could describe the magnificent beauty of there. I want to use this project to memory this unforgettable trip.

I really love the murals of Mo Gao grotto in Dun Huang. Being thousand years, the mural in there damaged by weather, and there are many cracks on the wall. For imitate the texture I experiment drawing with crayon on the textile I made with putty powder and latexI also used Ebru to create the curve of the mountains during the trip, and the shape of the flying apsaras of Mo Gao grotto on the mural like texture.
For protecting these and let them easy to sewing, I first sewed them with a layer of PVC. On the second garment for making the flying feeling I also combine the tough pants pieces with soft printed fabric of my drawing of the story of the mural.

Details of my drawing of the flying apsaras on the garment.
